Wakefield Repertory Youth Theatre is a six week summer camp for students going into 5th to 9th grade. This program focuses on all aspects of theatre, giving each and every student an opportunity to explore the arts, learn and grow. WRYT is thrilled to have our intern program back for Summer 2018.The WRYT intern program is a great “next step” for those who are too old to participate in the program, while providing the training and experience to possibly move into staff positions. It is vital for the program’s continuation that this program is a success. We are seeking motivated individuals (grade nine or higher) to come on board in leadership roles serving as student interns. Though an unpaid position, Interns receive hands-on theatrical training from a skilled staff and are expected to serve in leadership positions. Interning is also a great extra-curricular activity, community service and an impressive resume booster!
WRYT meets Monday- Friday (Camp hours 8a-2p, staff hours 7:30a-2:30p) starting June 25th and concluding in four performances the weekend of August 3rd. Interns are asked to be at camp daily, though with prior notification of conflicts, interns will be permitted to miss up to three camp days. In addition to normal hours there are also a number of outside of camp events which interns are encouraged and asked to attend (including fundraisers, set painting and construction, special events, tech weekend, etc.).
While we do our best to keep tuition costs affordable, we know that coming up with a lump payment for camp tuition in June can be daunting for many families. As with last year, we are continuing the option to allow you to pre-pay for your child’s WRYT camp tuition in installments. This year’s tuition will be $850.
